12 September, from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Pavilion of the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation on the FEFU embankment
On 12 September, from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., an international rowing ergometer race took place at the GTO Arena pavilion (Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation) on Far East Street, as part of the Vladivostok International Regatta. The distance was 2000 meters.
At the women’s race won the Russian athletes: first place went to Anastasia Tikhanova, second place to Elena Sorina, third place to Yana Merenkova. The girls were ahead of athletes from Cuba, Kazakhstan and Belarus, who also passed the qualifying competitions.
At the men's race, the athlete from Belarus, Filipp Paukov, won. “Silver” and “bronze” went to athletes from Russia Artem Kosov and Nikita Morgachev.
The main prize of the International Vladivostok Regatta - the oar blade of the Russian Federation team, signed by the guests of the Eastern Economic Forum - went to the Russian team for its triumph in the women's race.
On 11 September, in the women's competition at a distance of 2000 meters, the entire podium was occupied by representatives of the Kazakhstan team. Athena Belonogova won gold, Tamara Pervushkina won silver, and Elizaveta Shlein took third place.
The Belarusian team was in the lead in the men's 2000 meter race. Roman Shabatko took first place, Fyodor Shorokh took second place. Russian athlete Daniil Toropynin took third place.
Indoor rowing, or ergometer rowing, is an official rowing discipline approved by the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation in 2015. The competitions were conducted on special Concept 2 RowErg rowing machines (previously known as model D until April 2021), which mimic rowing in academic boats on water.
